Frank Erwin Center In Austin, Texas
One venue offering amazing live shows is The Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas at Austin. Located off Interstate-35, the center was built in 1977. High school commencement ceremonies and American Idol auditions are held at the Frank Erwin Center. George Bush chose the venue for his Presidential Announcement. A performance by Lawrence Welk was the first concert and first sold-out event held at the Frank Erwin Center.
