Located across the street from the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum, where Congress Avenue meets The University of Texas, the new Blanton is home to an inspiring collection of over 17,000 works of art, recognized for its European Old Master paintings, modern and contemporary American and Latin American art, and an encyclopedic collection of prints and drawings.

The Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, Texas, is a great place to visit for people of all ages. It is part of the University of Texas at Austin and is located on campus off Brazos Street. Visitors may park at the Brazos Street parking garage and receive a discount if they present their museum ticket at the museum's visitors desk. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday year-round, only closing for Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and July 4. There are four different galleries for guests to explore, as well as rotating exhibits that change throughout the year. Whether you're in Austin specifically to see these types of exhibits or to spend time enjoying the city's atmosphere, this museum is a definite must-see.

The Blanton Museum of Art provides four main galleries all year, including exhibits that focus on European paintings, American and Contemporary art, Latin American art, and prints and drawings. These galleries allow visitors to view art from many different parts of the world, creating a rich learning experience along the way. The museum is also family-friendly, and children under twelve are admitted at no cost. Lockers are available at the front of the building to store large bags or other items, and changing tables are provided in restrooms for guests' convenience.

This museum is unique for its other social events held regularly. On the first Friday of every other month, the museum hosts the "B Scene" program, where the museum remains open from 6pm to 10:30pm for live music and a celebration of art. Also, every Thursday, admission to the museum is free for all guests, so this is a great time to stop by and examine the art on display.
