The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is located in Austin, Texas. It is a commercial airport that has multiple uses. The airport covers an area of 4,242 acres. There are two different runways and three helipads. It is meant to serve general aviation, commercial aviation, as well as the Texas Army National Guard.
History
Construction for the Austin airport began on March 6th, 1995. Then, the airport was opened on May 23rd, 1999 for passenger services. They also created a new South terminal, which was opened in May, 2008. That same year, the airport managed to surpass the nine million mark for passengers flying in and out of Austin.

The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has a number of features. It is lined with restaurants and shops. If you are looking for outdoor activities, the McKinney Falls State Park is a little less than four miles away. It is a 640-acre park that has hiking, biking and fishing. Along with that, it has a swimming pool that is located under the falls. If it is raining and you need a family friendly activity, you can check out the Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex. It is only five miles away from the airport. It has a lot of activities that are fun for the whole family. It contains a bowling center, indoor playground, arcade, skating rink, as well as a movie theater.
